How the Sweet Bonanza family has grown since 2019

Sweet Bonanza first appeared in late June 2019 as a single online slot from Pragmatic Play. More than seven years later the name covers a small family of related games. This overview lists the main releases in order and explains what each one changed, so that a player who meets a new version can place it quickly.

What every version shares

All the main slots use a 6×5 grid with scatter pays: eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the screen pay, and winning symbols are removed so that new ones can tumble in. Four or more lollipop scatters award 10 free spins, and three or more scatters during free spins add five more. This shared core is why the versions feel familiar even when the numbers differ.

The releases in order

  • Sweet Bonanza (late June 2019). The original. Multiplier bombs from 2× to 100× appear in free spins and are added together at the end of a tumble sequence. Pragmatic Play lists an RTP of 96.48%, and the maximum win is usually given as 21,175× the stake.
  • Sweet Bonanza Xmas (November 2019). A Christmas re-skin that keeps the same mathematics.
  • Sweet Bonanza 1000 (June 2024). Bombs scale up to 1,000× and the maximum win rises to 25,000×.
  • Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter (end of July 2025). Adds Super Scatter symbols with instant prizes and a 50,000× ceiling.
  • Sweet Rush Bonanza (September 2025). A hybrid with the Sugar Rush mechanic of marked positions and growing multipliers.
  • Sweet Bonanza 2500 (April 2026). Bombs up to 2,500×, extra special bets and Super Spins.

Related products also use the name: a live game show, Sweet Bonanza CandyLand, launched in November 2021, and a licensed Slingo version was made by a different studio, Gaming Realms.

The pattern behind the growth

Looking across the line, two things stand out. First, the headline multiplier has been the main lever: from 100× to 1,000× to 2,500×. Second, the later games trade frequent small results for rarer large ones, which is generally described as very high volatility. Default RTP values stay close to 96.5% throughout, so the change is in how results are distributed, not in the average.

Each version has its own page with specifications and a comparison table on the versions page. As always, operators may run a different RTP profile, so check the game’s information screen before you play.
