Pragmatic Play reported to be leaving the US sweepstakes market

In early September 2025 trade press reported that Pragmatic Play would withdraw its games from sweepstakes casinos in the United States. The reports describe a supply decision by the provider; we have not seen a full statement, so the details below are as reported.

What sweepstakes casinos are

Sweepstakes casinos operate in many US states under promotional sweepstakes rules rather than under a gambling licence. Players use virtual currencies, and some of those can be redeemed for prizes. Several states have moved to restrict the model, which has made it a regulatory question for suppliers as well as for operators.

What it means for players

  • Availability. Players on US sweepstakes sites may find that Pragmatic Play slots, including Sweet Bonanza versions, are no longer listed after the withdrawal takes effect. The timing can differ between operators.
  • Licensed markets are separate. The reports concern sweepstakes supply only. Pragmatic Play continues to supply regulated real-money operators in jurisdictions where it is licensed.
  • Demo versions. Free-play versions are a separate matter and depend on where and how they are hosted.

Why it is relevant to a game site

The Sweet Bonanza family is one of the best-known groups of slots in the provider’s catalogue, so changes to where the games are available are often noticed first by players looking for them. Availability changes from market to market and from operator to operator, and an old listing may remain on a site for a while after the supply has ended.

If you cannot find a game you used to play, the operator’s game list and support page are the reliable places to ask. Where a game is available, the same checks apply as everywhere: look at the RTP profile in the information screen, and decide on a session budget before you begin. The specifications of each release are on the versions page. We will update this item if the provider publishes a full statement.
